The two color solid, sanded reactive coverstock combination has been one of the most popular in the industry. The Scorchin' Inferno uses this configuration with an upgraded version of ActivatorÂ¦reg; coverstock called ActivatorMAX.

ActivatorMAX is the latest development in Activator coverstock technology. ActivatorMAX preserves the clean reaction through the heads that Inferno balls are known for while increasing mid-lane and back-end hooking action in heavier volumes of oil.

Extensive on-lane testing places the best RG match-up for ActivatorMAX at a slightly higher value than that used for the Ultimate Inferno. For maximum forgiveness and versatility the Scorchin' uses a higher Average-RG, and lower differential version of the Ultimate Inferno core.

When compared to the Ultimate Inferno, the Scorchin' Inferno has the unique Activator clean reaction through the heads with increased mid-lane recovery, break-point angularity, a higher hook potential and improved traction in heavy carrydown. The Scorchin' Inferno is a heavy oil ball designed for bowlers who prefer Reactive over Particle coverstocks.

?When shined:Using Brunswick's Factory Finish Rough Buff the total hooking action of the Scorchin' Inferno can be reduced and the arc made more skid/snap. Using Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish the total hooking action will be further reduced and the arc made even more skid/snap.

Reaction Setup

The Scorchin' Inferno can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for two-piece balls, see the included drilling instructions for reaction characteristics and layout details. The Scorchin' Inferno is finished with a dull 600-grit surface which increases its hooking action in the oil. Dull surface finishes can sometimes hook too early resulting in reduced backend reaction and hitting power. To increase length, polish the surface with Brunswick's Factory Finish Rough Buff. To increase length and create and even more skid/snap reaction use Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish.

Brunswick bowling ball popular with Touring bowling professionals. Play with Fire without getting Burned Brunswick proudly introduces the Inferno with Activator Aggressive Reactive coverstock. Activator coverstock technology: Every Urethane (Conventional and Reactive) is made by combining a liquid polyol and a liquid isocyanate to make a solid urethane polymer. Brunswick has gone back to these foundations and developed a totally new polyol, combined with a radically new Liquid Crystal Isocyanate and Additive system in order to create Activator, a new Advanced Reactive material. Activator coverstocks feature a layered molecular structure that improves both coverstock durability and overall ball reaction. By design, the Activator material can be formulated to independently control the ball's traction in the oil and reaction to the dry. This ability to control the Traction/Friction Response has been used to fine tune the Activator coverstock to match up with a new Ultra-Low Rg core creating the Inferno, a ball with unparalleled characteristics from the foul line to the pit. Inferno Advantages In the front-ends: The Inferno's Activator coverstock is cleaner through the fronts, saving more reaction for the back-ends. This provides improved hitting power and back-end recovery while reducing sensitivity to breakdown in front-end lane conditions and lane surfaces that are less than ideal. In the mid-lane: The Ultra-Low RG core used in the Inferno provides strong mid-lane recovery while its Activator coverstock provides improved traction in the oil with a smoother, more effective reaction off the dry. This combination reduces over/under reaction by making the wet play less wet and the dry, less dry, effectively allowing the bowler to create more area. On the back-ends: The Inferno's Activator coverstock is powerful and continuous from the breakpoint through the pins. Improved traction in the oil allows the Inferno to bite through the carry down and aggressively change direction without breaking loose from the lane. The strong rolling characteristics of the Ultra-Low RG core make this move more readable allowing you to open up the lane. At the pins: The Activator coverstock used on the Inferno creates lower, more active pin action for improved carry. Brunswick Activator Coverstock has quickly established a reputation for excellence in ball reaction, durability and longevity of ball reaction. On the lanes, Activator Coverstock balls are clean through the heads with excellent mid-lane recovery and strong arcing back-end reactions that create powerful pin action. Owners of the original Inferno have reported that it requires less frequent resurfacing and/or rejuvenation and is more resistant to cracking than other reactive coverstock balls.

Activator Plus is a more aggressive version of the original Activator coverstock formulation that maintains the durability and longevity of ball reaction that are characteristic of the Activator coverstock family. The rough-buff, pearlized version of Activator Plus coverstock used on the Absolute Inferno creates more traction in the oil, increasing the ball's mid-lane and backend hooking action, while still being clean through the front end. The Total Inferno is the second ball to take full advantage of Brunswick's new Urethane casting machine. By fusing a new additive with new processing technology, Brunswick has created a version of Octane coverstock with more back-end grip.

Reaction Characteristics - Absolute Inferno® on steroids

With increased grip in light oil and in the dry, Octane Gription coverstock gives the Total Inferno a length similar to other rough buffed Brunswick balls but with more response late in the mid-lane, on the back-ends and on the thickest of carrydown. Improved grip has another advantage. The Total Inferno responds less to oil moving down the lane, minimizing reactions changes due to carrydown. The increase in down lane hooking action delivers a ball with both high hook potential and high angularity on todayâ¦trade;s lane conditions.

The Total Inferno uses the lowest RG core Brunswick has ever put in a bowling ball. A fast revving, super-ultra-low-RG-core helps the Total Inferno deliver great mid-lane recovery. Then, Octane Gription coverstock takes over and produces a stronger version of the move made famous by the Absolute Inferno; angular but controllable, strong but continuous. This strong down lane move delivers the highest hook potential Brunswick has achieved in a pearlized ball.

When dulled:. Shiny surface finishes sometimes cause the ball to go too long before breaking. To get your Total Inferno rolling sooner, dull the surface with a Scotch-briteâ¢ grey pad, or similar abrasive, to increase hooking action. To further increase hooking action, use a rougher abrasive to create an earlier reaction. Dulling your Total Inferno will increase its hooking action and its arc will become more even, creating a better match-up for oily lane conditions. Dulling also helping to blend the over/under reactions seen on wet/dry lane conditions. To bring your Total Inferno back to its original factory finish, sand the surface to 220-grit then use Brunswick's Factory Finish Rough Buff.
